Wednesday evening’s spectacular show at Gateway saw ten young fashion designers from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) take a step closer to clinching the coveted title of top fashion design student. The semi-final show, presented by the Durban Fashion Fair, showcased the talents of these emerging designers, who will now move on to the next round of judging.
The event also featured a showcase of ready-to-wear garments from select retailers at Gateway. The ten selected semi-finalists will join KZN’s most prominent fashion designers at the Durban July fashion preview show on 28 June, with the final round of judging taking place at the main event on 6 July 2024.
The student finalists are competing for bursaries worth over R100 000 from the Hollywood Foundation, with the top three students set to receive this prestigious award.
