Party Condemns Racial And Unconstitutional Opposition To Hlophe’s Appointment

Date:

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has expressed strong objections to the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) opposition to the appointment of Dr John Hlophe to the Judicial Services Commission, labelling it as “racial and unconstitutional conduct”.

In a statement from the Office of the Secretary-General, the party also condemned “unelected and unregulated” non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for attempting to influence parliamentary appointments, accusing them of being “foreign-funded” and “undermining South Africa’s sovereignty”.

The party emphasised the need for economic transformation and ownership of the means of production to benefit the black population, stressing that this is essential for true socio-economic liberation.

The statement reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fighting against external influences and championing the socio-economic liberation of black Africans.

“The uMkhonto weSizwe Party will not stand idly by while our country’s sovereignty is undermined by foreign-funded NGOs and political parties that prioritise their own interests over the needs of our people,” the statement read.

The party’s strong stance comes amid growing debates over the role of NGOs and foreign influence in South African politics.
