TRAGEDY STRIKES PHIKISWAYO PRIMARY SCHOOL: EDUCATOR FATALLY SHOT

A devastating incident occurred at Phikiswayo Primary School this morning, leaving the education community in shock. A female educator was tragically shot and killed on school premises, sparking widespread outrage and grief throughout the province.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has confirmed the incident and dispatched a team of officials, including the District Director, Circuit Managers, and representatives from the Special Needs Education Services (SNES), to provide support and assistance to the affected parties.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of a dedicated educator,” said MEC Mr. Sipho Hlomuka in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and school community during this devastating time.”

The Department has condemned the senseless act of violence and urged law enforcement to expedite their investigation to ensure justice is served. Authorities are calling on anyone with information to come forward and assist the police in their inquiry.

The incident has left the community reeling, with many expressing concern about safety and security in schools. As the investigation unfolds, the Department of Education will continue to provide support to those affected by this tragic event.
