In a bold move, the Springbok coaching team has named an unchanged team for their second Test match against Ireland at Kings Park on Saturday. This decision comes on the back of their hard-fought 27-20 victory over the same opponents last week.
The four-time World Champions are riding high on confidence and have overcome some nagging injuries from the previous clash. Irish coach Owen Farrell has lavished praise on the Springboks, calling them the most experienced team to start a Test match. He went on to say that this is the best South African team ever produced, coached by the best coach in the world.
Farrell attributed their World Cup win in France last year to their dominance and predicted that they will continue to reign supreme for the next four years leading up to the home World Cup in 2027.
As the Springboks return to Durban for the first time since September 2022, excitement is building among the locals. With almost 90% of tickets already sold, fans of all ages are expected to pack the 55 000 capacity stadium. Kickoff is at 17h00 on Saturday evening.
The unchanged team selection is a testament to the coaching staff’s faith in the players and their ability to deliver against a tough opponent like Ireland. With the home crowd behind them, the Springboks will be looking to build on their previous performance and make it two wins from two against the Irish.
