Durban – KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has unpacked the plans and the province’s readiness for the Grade 12 National Senior Certificate Examinations. Building on last year’s impressive pass rate, the province aims to achieve a higher pass rate.
To achieve this ambitious goal, the Department of Education has developed a comprehensive Academic Improvement Plan. This plan includes various initiatives such as:
Accountability Sessions: targeting schools with below-average pass rates to ensure they receive necessary support.
Winter Classes Programme: providing additional learning opportunities for learners.
Hybrid Camps: offering overnight accommodation and cluster walk-in centers for learners needing extra support.
Spring Bootcamps: focusing on challenging subject areas.
Weekend Tuition Sessions: providing final push support.
The province has implemented stringent measures to ensure examination integrity, including secure printing facilities, monitoring high-risk centers, and matriculant pledge signing.
With these measures in place, KwaZulu-Natal is poised to shine again. The National Minister of Basic Education will release the exam results, with KwaZulu-Natal’s results following shortly after.
