Durban, KwaZulu-Natal – The stage is set for the 11th edition of the Impucuzeko Maskandi Festival, an annual celebration of Maskandi music, taking place this Saturday at People’s Park next to Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Since its inception in 2012, the event has grown in popularity and reputation, showcasing a diverse range of Maskandi artists and contributing to the growth and development of the genre. The festival has a rich history, experiencing tremendous growth and evolving into one of the most highly anticipated events in the Maskandi music calendar.
The primary objective of the Impucuzeko Maskandi Festival is to promote and celebrate Maskandi music, deeply rooted in Zulu culture. The event aims to bring together Maskandi lovers, showcase talented artists, and contribute to the growth and development of the genre in South Africa and beyond.
The 2024 festival features a diverse lineup of Maskandi artists, including Gatsheni, Stabhilithi, Mzukulu, Somnandi, Khuzani, and many more. Fans are eagerly anticipating the performances, and organizers have promised the return of the famous GOLDEN HOUR, where a top artist will perform for a whole hour.
